Ballet de Monterrey, Mexico (postponed)
performs Don Quijote
Full-Length Classical Ballet

Luis Serrano, Artistic Director

Sunday, May 9 at 2:00 p.m.
Laurie Auditorium at Trinity University

Based on Chapter XIX of the second book of The Ingenious Noble: Don Quijote de la Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra.

Having read too much about them, Don Quijote is an eccentric peasant who believes he is the legitimate successor of the gallant medieval cavaliers. He dreams of a noble lady called Dulcinea and in her name he will accomplish great feats. His dreams are interrupted by his neighbor Sancho Panza. Don Quijote immediately makes him his page and together they leave in pursuit of love and adventure. He becomes fixated with Kitri, the Inn Keeper's beautiful daughter, who reminds Quijote of his beloved Dulcinea. Kitri's forbidden lover Basilio, the haughty noble Gamarche, the gypsies and windmills swirl together in this beautiful, dance-filled production.

Performed by Ballet de Monterrey, Mexico
Luis Serrano, Artistic Director
